14 Audio Technica Ath Ap2000ti Headphones Review
If you are used to studio recorded bass levels and then listen to a headphone that has a flat or neutral bass response then you are going to think that the neutral headphone is. Most of the headphone reviews I see seem to focus almost exclusively on studio recorded music and a lot of studio recorded music has what I would call a boosted bass response.

After being genuinely impressed by their open-back flagship the ATH-ADX5000 I was curious to see Audio Technicas take on a high-end closed-back headphone and a wooden one at that.
Additionally it has a nuanced sense of height although doesnt reach down quite as far as it would with a bigger bass response. They dont sound congested or closed in at all. Easy enough to drive.
The bass is very good on both and can be EQd to your liking. They are starting to seriously compete against really good open models and that is an achievement in itself. Audio-Technica ATH-AP2000Ti is one of the roughest of closed headphones in its class.

I dont know what Audio Technica did to these headphones but they seem to add some sort of surround sound that really separates the instruments on certain tracks. The results were always good and musical with any genre making this an excellent all-around headphone for portable players.
The AP2000ti is still one of my favorite headphones and Im still trying to decide whether or not to get the ATH-AWAS as my next headphone but Im afraid theyll sound too much like these since they use the exact same driver. Unlike the all business-looking ATH-ADX5000 I had a suspicion that the ATH-AWKT might be an altogether different kind of beast not only due to its closed-back configuration but. The soundstage is pretty good.
The soundstage of the Audio Technica ATH-CM2000Ti has a good spacious sense of width. There are few closed models I have heard that beat the ATH-AP2000Ti when we talk speed resolution and transparency. I noticed the difference with more inner detail and transparency which is a testament to the ATH-AP2000Ti.
The clarity in the treble is top notch. The overall sound signature is on the brighter side of neutral but to me this adds to the openness of the headphone. Bass is a little light but might need a proper seal on your head.
Stylish in a relatively subdued manner. AP2000ti although with a higher price actually there are some special offers around 800 and worse noise isolationAudio Technica closed back headphones all have big enough vent and are actually semi-closed and this should be the case for almost all Japanese closed back headphones does a better job as a portable headphone. Nice review and after reading a couple on the AWAS its a headphone on my shortlist especially after getting the AP2000ti a few months ago which has become one of my favorite headphones.
These sound like theyd compliment them well since the AP2000ti is on the brighter side of neutral and these seem to be a bit warmer in tone which I like. The AWKTs sound more natural with no frequency emphasized.
